In the early 1970s a new form of music was emerging in the South. Throughout the 1980’s the band’s popularity grew with a string of MTV music video hits, featuring a more straight-forward rock vibe. Their follow-up album, the most well known and successful of their albums, Flirtin’ with Disaster was released in 1979. In 1978 the band released its first album titled Molly Hatchet.
